The New Mexico News Map is a public service project to research the availability and value of news and information at the community level in New Mexico.

This project was developed in partnership with The New Mexico Local News Fund, a support organization for community journalism. Other partners include the UNM Center for Regional Studies and Press Forward New Mexico, a philanthropic project to spur investment in New Mexico’s local information ecosystem.

We get in-kind support from New Mexico PBS, UNM Communication & Journalism, and MVM Consulting.

Co-managing this project are consultant and former UNM journalism professor Michael Marcotte, and UNM journalism professor Gwyneth Doland. The director of The NM Local News Fund is Rashad Mahmood.
